Strength and power showcase this forceful, rich distillate’s intense flavors. Extended barrel aging have developed earthy flavors to complement the candied and dried fruit aromas. The rum has a long and direct length shooting down the palate and the alcohol, while powerful, gives drive to the dense flavors across the palate. The rum features deep concentration of complex flavors. All tannins are well integrated, giving a velvet texture, and youthful ‘spirited’ character has been matured into supple weighty character. It is a dry, richly textured, densely flavored, cask strength rum to be enjoyed as a sipping rum or in proper measure to add depth to any cocktail. Especially suited to the rum old fashioned and daiquiri. Cooperage: New American oak, 24 mo. outdoor air season, #3 char, 53 gallons Distilled: March 6th, 2014 Age: 2 years, 3 months, 24 days (847 days) Harvested: July 30, 2016 Visual: Clear, deep copper with flashes of amber, viscous and brilliant. Aroma: Clean nose, pronounced and developed aromas of cigar, sandalwood, tobacco, biscuit, brioche, dried red apple, dried cherry, cinnamon, allspice, clove, and dried mango. Floral aromas of acacia and peach blossom. Smoke, tar, and roses. Palate: Dry, with bright mouth watering acidity, warming but round alcohol, and full body. Pronounced flavors of brown butter, leather, toasted almond, pastry, dried cherries, cinnamon, clove, forest floor, and mineral tones. The rum is firm edged and supple mid-palate with a with a dense core of flavor. The finish is long featuring mineral tones, toasted almonds, and custard flavors.
